And we’re back!

Happy holidays!

In case you didn’t know, we around the Rudisill household love this time of year. I mean, what’s not to love? The entire season is devoted to merriment and joy and friends and family, and that’s pretty much our wheelhouse right there.

Hard not to be joyful, looking at a face like that.

We had quite the adventure the last two weeks.

So much travel - it wears a guy out.

Nolan used his very first plane ticket! Not his first time on a plane, of course, but this was the first time he wasn’t forced to sit on Mom’s lap the WHOLE TIME AND IT WAS AWESOME!

Little man did great. We couldn’t have asked for a better traveler.

Once we got to Indiana for Thanksgiving, there were monsters to take care of before we could tuck in to the turkey.

Despite pretty even odds, the Battle of Nolan the Destroyer vs. Echo the Behemoth only lasted about thirty seconds!

And make no mistake, monsters come in all shapes and sizes this time of year.

Aunt Mikki. 'Nuff said.

We got to get some much needed time to stretch our legs.

Climbing is only one of the skills I mastered at a young age.

And still had time to spend with loved ones.

Fraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaands.

We made it home safe and sound, trading a late season 70F in southern Indiana for a balmy Duluth 20F.

No big deal, just gives a guy an excuse to rock out in his favorite thermals.**

And our trip was just long enough that Little Man has gotten to explore our house all over again.

Can't decide if I took photo because I caught him in his new favorite verboten nook, or if it's because of his hair.

It was a great visit, but we’re glad to be back… just in time to start planning the next trip!

Hope your Thanksgiving was as full as ours, in spirit if not in bellies.

**Note: Incidentally, this photo is not a picture of trash bags. I thought Nolan guarding his Cheerios was funny, and I didn’t even see the predatory look in Greta’s eyes until much later. I’d be scared, except I’m pretty sure she’s only after the cereal. Also, those are not actual bags of garbage. If you must know, they contain my new-and-therefore-as-yet-unassembled Christmas tree!
