I mean, it’s a big, enclosed racquetball court lined with play mats and full of large, climbable and stackable objects. I’m pretty sure it’s Nolan’s favorite part of the week.
And he always sleeps like an angel after, so it’s pretty much my favorite too!
We rearranged our play-spaces at home this week to facilitate the speech therapy goings-on. Nolan seems to like the new accommodations here as well.
Naturally, this means he’ll climb all over the reading corner, and actually read in the bathtub.
Bath time has gotten a bit smoother since we moved it to earlier in the day. Putting away all the bath toys helped a lot! (Hat tip to John’s cousin Allyson – thank you!)
In other news this week, we had another visit from our speech therapist. (I’ve been informed that his proper acronym is SLP – as in, Speech Language Pathologist – so he’ll be the SLP going forward.) The SLP was most impressed with Nolan’s progress.
Our charge this week is to treat certain sounds as words (we’re pretty sure he says ‘ma’ and ‘dee’ for mom and dad; also I swear, the other day he said “juice”!), and to add extra syllables whenever repeating sounds back to him. And continue with the turn-taking games, of course.
That sounds pretty rudimentary, but I’m having a hard time squeezing those two extra things into the games we’re already playing. But hey. Just keep swimming, right?
But the real news of the week? Practicing our selfie game.
As you can see, it went… well…
