Rained Out

Happy Monday! We’re undergoing the local annual deluge up here in northern Wisconsin, so I thought I’d share some pictures from the gorgeous, sunny taste of summer we had the last couple of weeks.

Somebody here got real used to playing outside, real fast.

It’s been slow to warm up, but anything above freezing is a win and anything above 40F means PLAY OUTSIDE.

In true toddler fashion, the fewer clothes the better.

We’re finally starting to see some green on the trees again. Little man here isn’t the only one who was getting used to it!

Fun in the sun

But it’s also fire season up here, so we’ll take all the rain we can get. While those of you south of us are contending with daily tornado warnings, we’re on high alert for forest fires. (Lots of sirens either way!)

Keepin' busy, doin' work.

In other news, I got a freezer!

That may not sound all that exciting at first but leaving our deep freezer behind when we moved up here was a matter of necessity, not so much choice.

She may not look like much to you, but she gets a lot of my work done.

Having a dedicated freezer is HUGE in keeping our food costs down, which in turn aids our quest to pay off the mortgage this year. (I haven’t mentioned it since New Year’s, but it’s still our big-enough-to-make-it-outlandish goal for 2015.)

We also scored a pretty awesome desk for $10 on Craigslist that’s now doing triple duty: desk, TV stand, and toy display shelf.

Good thing it's sturdy. That's all I've got to say.

So happy soggy Monday to you all. Have a great week!

P.S. In case you missed it, we had the good fortune to meet up with an actual photographer during our Easter weekend getaway. You can see Susan Smith’s photos here!
