I never hear that without thinking of ‘N Sync, God love them.
I think that’s still the only album I went out of my way to purchase on it’s release day.
And now, a moment of silence for the dearth of taste during my younger years. Thank goodness I’ve grown up since then!
Ahem.
Anyway.
This kid figured out a couple of weeks ago at playgroup that you can turn stuff on it’s end and it will sometimes stand up. Wish I had pictures to prove it, but I swear to you, it started with crayons. Where that level of dexterity comes from is beyond me!
We also opened the first box of sidewalk chalk this week. I’ve been dragging my feet on those because up until this year, little man here was only really interested in chewing on the chalk. Blech. We seem to be finally, blessedly past that stage — kiddo spent a solid twenty-five minutes setting the chalk pieces on end when he got hold of them this week. Upright on the sidewalk, one at a time, then one at a time, upright on the ledge. Then back to the sidewalk.
Sometimes he colors or draws, but mostly, it’s standing them on end. As new habits go, it beats the heck out of the new screech-honk-howl ability he’s discovered.
(Ever hear a noise that makes you want to set your own head on fire? That’s what this sounds like.)
(I’m not making it up, though. He’s generally delightful and the absolute joy of my soul, but sweet mother of pearl that noise makes me want to skin my own eyeballs.)
But back to the good stuff!
For the record, Nolan actually PUT John under the desk like that. And Greta’s just doing her best to help, I’m sure.
Have a great weekend, everybody!
I love your stories!

Thanks, Terri! Writing them down makes me feel better about not keeping a family scrapbook. Lol.
